I am a UC Berkeley-trained copyeditor with a special focus on budget-conscious writers, indie authors, and bloggers. I am also a Norwegian to English translator.

Born and raised in Canada, I have been living in Norway since 2002. English is my first language; I am fluent in Norwegian and proficient in German and French.

After many years as a language instructor at the middle-school level in Norway, I was ready for a change. I completed UC Berkeley’s Professional Sequence in Editing and started freelance editing in 2021.

Language is an integral part of my life, both personally and professionally. Upholding freedom of expression through the written word is of special interest and significance to me, and many writers—famous and obscure alike—have influenced me and enriched my life through their work.

In 2012 I self-published the Norwegian-language book Vil vinden bære dem: Flyktninghistorier fra Ringsaker Asylmottak. Throughout the years, I have also written various articles in English and Norwegian, some of which are published on my personal blog.

We now live in an exciting era of doors that were previously shut suddenly opening up through the opportunities of self-publishing. But quantity does not equal quality, and hiring a professional editor remains a vital step to ensuring that your work gets noticed for the right reasons.

My goal as an editor and translator is to meet you in the middle and to bridge the gap that often exists between the cost of professional-quality copyediting services and the budget constraints of aspiring writers. For more information about my services, please see here.
